Gallery – Australia

Pictures from Australia are from August 2006 when we spent about one week in Melbourne and then visited the best spots of Victoria during several days car trip. Although there was hot summer in Europe, the southern part of Australia was waking up from wintertime and the waters of Southern Ocean were also pretty cold. Australia is a land of contrasts, as we could feel during our drive from the Ocean shore inland towards the desert mining town Broken Hill. Local nature is fascinating too – there is of course nothing comparable to European flora or fauna but the immediate experience is really something! We did not have very much time but we tried to see at least the best from Victoria – the most I liked was the Great Ocean Road with one of the most beautiful sceneries in the world, amazing landscape of Grampians National Park and the desert parks as was for example Mungo National Park.
