Gallery – Canada

Emerald Lake, Yoho National Park The pictures from Canada presented on this website come from the 3-weks trip to British Columbia in July and beginning of August 2008. The very first part of our trip we spent in Vancouver – although it is a typical north-american city with the downtown full of skyscrapers surrounded by vast suburbs made of tens of streets and avenues linked like a mesh, Vancouver is otherwise very nice city – situated in the mouth of Fraser river, washed by the waters of Pacific Ocean and surrounded by snowy mountains. I strongly recommend to visit the China town, markets of the Granville Island and of course the Stanley park – the islet of green at the northern tip of the Vancouver downtown. Another places we visited during our trip to Canada were described in three-parts report about birds of British Columbia so only briefly – after staying in Vancouver we headed to Vancouver Island NW of Vancouver with beautiful beaches near Tofino with the possibilities of whale-watching. After coming back to the mainland we continued inland and visited the most famous parks of tha Canadian part of Rocky Mountains – Kootenay, Banff, Yoho and Jasper National Parks with amazing views! On the way back to Vancouver we had stopover in the Okanagan Lake area which is probably the place with the best climate in British Columbia. You can read more about these particular places in the articles Birds of British Columbia I – Vancouver and surrounding , Birds of British Columbia II – Vancouver Island and Birds of British Columbia III – inland . I wish you nice tour through my gallery, all the pictures from Canada (excluding pictures of birds) can be seen in the section Countries – Canada, all the pictures from Canada including birds can be found HERE.

And as usually, few samples from the gallery below, thanks for your visit…

Fantastic images, but the images you have down as Lake Louise are in fact of Moraine lake for sure as I have shot in both locations many times.

Hello Colin, thanks a lot for your feedback, you are right, that is the Moraine Lake not Louise - I have fixed that mistake - the lakes are pretty close to each other but Moraine Lake amazed me much more than the Louise Lake with loads of tourists... Canada is fantastic country, hope to get back one day!
